Sunny Spain, that’s the phrase the most comes to mind when people think about a holiday here. And since Spain has thousands of miles of golden sand coastline, most people book their holidays at the beach, the Costa del Sol being the most popular.
But inland from the coast are the beautiful cities of Ronda and Antequera, and numerous natural parks and cute villages all painted white. Historically this region has seen human settlement for at least 50,000 years, and maybe as much as 70,000 or even 80,000 years if recent archeological evidence is correct.
Evidence of human settlement dating back as much as 30,000 years can still be seen in the several caves that are open to the public filled with paleolithic paintings of animals. Benaojan outside Ronda is considered the best example, and the most authentic as well.
